When you’re looking for something easy, delicious, and healthy, let smoothies be the answer. We combined each of our Seed Butters with juice and frozen fruit to create one smoothie for (almost) every color of the rainbow. We like using frozen fruit to keep everything really cold as you’re sipping it under the warm summer sunshine, but you could also use fresh berries with just a few added ice cubes. Each smoothie contains 10-16 grams of protein, which you get from the Seed Butter, and roughly one third to half of your daily recommended intake of fruit. Plus, all you need is five minutes and a blender or food processor ... and maybe a paper umbrella.
CHOCOLATE CHERRY
- 1/4 cup Dark Chocolate Sunflower Seed Butter
- 1 1/2 cups frozen cherries (watch out for pits)
- 1/2 cup cherry juice
Chocolate and fruit is a classic "treat yourself" moment. If you don't like (or can't have) cherries, frozen strawberries with cranberry juice is also a decadent combination.
MAPLE MANGO
- 1/4 cup Maple Sunflower Seed Butter
- 1 1/2 cups frozen mangoes
- 1 banana
- 3/4 cup orange juice
Let this smoothie transport you to a tropical beach. Imagine yourself lounging in a chair or sprawled on a towel, soaking up the rays and wiggling your toes into the sand. Then take a sip of this smoothie, and exhale.
GREEN MONSTER
- 1/4 cup Pumpkin Seed Butter, Original or Unsweetened
- 1 cup frozen mangoes
- 1 banana
- 1 cup spinach, tightly packed
- 3/4 cup apple juice
Whether you need an extra boost of energy for your morning run or to chase your kids around all day, this protein-packed smoothie can power you through anything. Plus, the iron-rich spinach is better absorbed in your body with the help of vitamin C from the mangoes. Say hello to your new all-in-one power smoothie.
PINA COLADA
- 1/4 cup Watermelon Seed Butter, Original or Unsweetened
- 1 1/2 cups frozen pineapple
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup orange juice
Adding Watermelon Seed Butter instead of coconut to pineapple, orange juice, and vanilla somehow makes this smoothie taste exactly like a pina colada. We wouldn't object to you adding a splash of booze to the blender — for that authentic pina colada flavor, of course.
BLUEBERRY VANILLA
- 1/4 cup Vanilla Spiced Sunflower Seed Butter
- 1 1/2 cups frozen blueberries
- 1 banana
- 1/2 cup apple juice
Who doesn't love a purple smoothie? The cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla blend beautifully with the tartness from the blueberries for a well-balanced and fruity crowd favorite.
